Pensacola Local News

News for Pensacola, FL - May 31st, 2010 4:46pm
The media is on top of the oil disaster in the western Gulf. Louisianna is coast is at a stand still, the marshes are being chocked by oil. Since a disaster of this proportion has never hit our shores before, no one seems to be abe to come up with a resolution. Sea food is a way of life whether catching or eating I can't fathom life without Dolphins, crab, oysters, pelicans, shrimp, etc. This devastation along their coast could at some point, head east. So far, our beautiful white sugar sand beaches and emerald green waters are safe. There must be someone in this world that can come up with a solid fix to plug the gusher.
Pensacola Beach, Gulf Breeze and all of our shores are still safe and unimaginably beautiful.

News for Pensacola, FL - Friday July 10th, 2009 1:31pm
Summertime is "fun time" in Pensacola. This weekend of July 10th is the Blue Angels Air Show on Pensacola Beach. If anyone sill be in Pensacola the best time to watch the Blues fly is Friday during the practice. The crowds are much less. Saturday the 11th will be jam packed with locals and tourists alike. Pensacola Beach recently has an alchohol free section which has been a great success for families. There are many great eating places and bars along Via DeLuna to visit after an amazing air show. Be sure to bring lots of sunblock, drinks, beach chairs and a large beach umbrella. During this very sunny weekend you will get a sunburn within 15 minutes if you aren't careful. The coming week is the Crab Cake Cook-Off. This is the 15th year and the teams will be competing downtown in Seville Quarter. You will NOT want to miss this event. Talk about delicious, mouth-watering food, this is the place to be on Tuesday. July 14th. Downtown Pensacola is quaint, historical, picturesque and cultural. Walk to the T.J. Wentworth Museum, art galleries, restaurants and the marina.

Agent quarterly survey shows growing optimism toward a housing market recovery

End of tunnel, meet light. Real estate agents have been imagining that vision for a while, and first-quarter optimism in 2012 has some saying the road to recovery could be just around the corner.

Much of the upbeat attitude from HouseHunt's market condition survey stems from tighter inventory and houses not remaining as long on the market. Of agents reporting, 38 percent said inventory was tight in their cities, compared to 32 percent in the fourth quarter of 2011 and 13 percent at the beginning of last year. Regarding time on the market, 30 percent reported houses selling in 60 days or less, compared to 22 percent in the previous quarter and 10 percent at the beginning of 2011.
