News for Bloomingdale, Eckington, Edgewood, Stronghold and Truxton Circle, DC - March 27th, 2012 1:
Bloomingdale and Eckington have quickly become one of the hottest markets in Washington, DC. LeDroit Park has always been known for its famously historic homes. Recently with the commercial development along First Street, NW and along New York Avenue the Bloomingdale and Eckington area are becoming a top choice for buyers. Where else in DC can you find a livable Victorian style home for fewer than 600K. Businesses are starting to flock to Bloomingdale as a new Thai Restaurant is slated to open in the summer 2012. The upcoming Thai place will make that 3 new restaurants/bars opening up in the last year and a half. There was also a bike share that was built right in front of the new Thai place.
The Bloomingdale and Eckington market has once again shifted. There is less property to choose from now. Inventory is limited and that is a good sign for sellers. For those that have not noticed this area of DC has become a SELLER'S MARKET!!!!! There I said it and I was not struck by lightning. Happy House hunting

Agent quarterly survey shows growing optimism toward a housing market recovery
End of tunnel, meet light. Real estate agents have been imagining that vision for a while, and first-quarter optimism in 2012 has some saying the road to recovery could be just around the corner.
Much of the upbeat attitude from HouseHunt's market condition survey stems from tighter inventory and houses not remaining as long on the market. Of agents reporting, 38 percent said inventory was tight in their cities, compared to 32 percent in the fourth quarter of 2011 and 13 percent at the beginning of last year. Regarding time on the market, 30 percent reported houses selling in 60 days or less, compared to 22 percent in the previous quarter and 10 percent at the beginning of 2011.
