The national household income study results are based on three-bedroom, single-family homes and houses with five or more listings on the real estate market in the U.S. Residents of San Diego lead the highest average income list with an average household income of $430,966, followed by the exclusive neighborhood of Rancho Santa Fe, CA with $411,595 as the average income. Wealthy U.S. cities from across the country made the list, with New York representing six cities, including Bedford; Short Hills in Washington DC and New Canaan in Connecticut.
