Dana Point, Orange County, California


Named after the now famous writer, Richard Henry Dana, who wrote. " Two Years Before the Mast", Dana Point is one of Orange counties most newly incorporated cities , chartered in 1989. It has been transformed from a sleepy beach community dating back to the 1940's, to a now bustling tourist mecca. Boasting a variety of recreational attractions, it has become the vacation destination of choice throughout the state and country.

Its fine first class marina caters to the serious yachtsman, as well as , the more casual weekend sailor. The harbor has broad promenades , with many fine restaurants, speciality shops, that cater to the tastes of the variety of visitors.

From Monarch Beach in the north, to Capistrano Beach in the south, this vast strekh of coast includes such landmarks as "The Ritz Carlton " (a world renowned hotel). Many secluded beaches, popular Doheny State Park camp grounds, are a magnet that draws serious surfers and casual beach goers to the city.

A fine community qf estates and cottages that caters to the most discriminating tastes, Boasting a mild climate and clean air, it has few of the problems associated with many other beach areas. All in all, a great place to live.
